INTERNSHIP & RESIDENCY

Heartland Behavioral Health : May 1986 – June 1988

Worked as a post-doctoral trainee in a large psychiatric hospital providing a variety of treatment for inpatient setting, including long term treatment of patients with severe mental illness. Coordinated an in-house program for substance abuse and provided intensive psychotherapy for patients with Personality Disorder. Conducted extensive psychological testing for forensic cases.

McAllister Institute of Technology and Education : Sept. 1983 – May 1984

Worked as a psychology intern, providing drug counseling, psychotherapy, psychological testing, hypnosis, biofeedback, and relaxation training for a population of mostly drug addicts and alcoholics.

Pathway’s Drug & Counseling Center : Sept. 1981 – May 1982

Worked as an intern in clinical psychology, providing psychological testing, psychotherapy, biofeedback, hypnosis, and relaxation training for a wide range of clients including alcoholics and drug addicts.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Private Practice : October 1986 – Present

Developed a very successful private practice providing psychological and neuropsychological testing, as well as, psychotherapy, biofeedback training, and hypnosis for a wide variety of patients on an outpatient basis.

Northerneastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine - Assistant Professor Clinical Psychology : June 2002 - Present          

Teaching of medical students.  Psychological as well as neuropsychological diagnostic tools and in Psychiatry methods.

Mercy Medical Center Rehabilitation Unit : May 2001 – Present

Providing psychological and neuropsychological testing and counseling for the patients of this general rehabilitation unit.

Aultman Hospital - Department of Psychiatry & Psychology : August 1988 – Present

As a member of the medical staff and chairman of the section of Psychology, I provide psychological and neuropsychological testing, psychotherapy, group therapy, staff development, and psychological consultation. I also teach medical students, psychology students, and nursing students.

Aultman Hospital Rehabilitation Unit : January 1996 – Present

As a member of the multidisciplinary team, I provide psychological testing, neuropsychological testing, and counseling for the patients of this general rehabilitation unit.

Aultman Hospital Stress Management Program : October 1989 – October 1998

Developed and taught a popular stress management program for the public to learn  different relaxation techniques and overcome stress related disorders.

Aultman Hospital New Direction Program : July 1991 – October 1998

Worked as the Psychologist for a weight loss program. Provided psychological evaluations, staff development, and individual and group therapy.

Stark County Central Mental Health Center : August 1986 – October 1989

Provided a variety of treatments and evaluations, including psychological testing, individual counseling, crisis intervention, suicide hot lines, and emergency services for an outpatient mental health center.

Vista Hill Hospital : January 1982 – May 1984

Worked as a mental health worker in an inpatient private hospital. Provided counseling, relaxation training, and group therapy for acutely disturbed patients on adult and adolescent unit.

Queen Farah Charity Society : 1973-1974

Under supervision of American trained Iranian  psychologists and psychiatrists; worked as a psychology assistant in an orphanage, working with maladjusted children using IQ tests and personality tests, also participated in Research Programs translating and standardizing American tests for Iran (MMPI, Raven, and Proteuous mazes)

Ministry of Science of Iran : 1973-1974

Under supervision of American trained psychometricians; worked as a statistician in a Research program evaluating College Entrance Examinations.

City Orphanages of Tehran : 1972 – 1973

Under supervision of American trained psychologists and psychiatrists; worked as a psychology assistant with maladjusted children in city orphanages providing testing, counseling, and research assistance.
